Constructed on a satin-finish bronze serpentine, that recalls the criss-crossing of pipes from old industrial plants, Alumina is made up of five quadrangular elements decorated with submerged bubbles all completely hand-crafted. To complete the composition, four decorative and differently finished metal grilles are added to the five glass elements. Ceiling or sconce mount.
The history of Barovier & Toso dates back to as far as 1295, and numerous museum collections include some of their finest glass work. As a member of the Barovier family dynasty, in 1450 Angelo Barovier invented Venetian crystal glass.
Their original tools are kept under a lock and key in the Barovier & Toso Museum in Venice, Italy. Each generation of master glass blowers at the factory hand down their craft to the next generation.
